Regarding laser surgery of the spine, we adhere to the North American Spine Society (NASS) recommendations. The recommendation is that laser surgery of the cervical or lumbar spine is not indicated. Due to lack of adequate clinical trials endorsing laser spine surgery of the cervical or lumbar area, it is NOT recommended by the North American Spine Society (NASS) at this time. It is also NOT endorsed for open, minimally invasive, or percutaneous surgical techniques. To summarize, laser surgery of the cervical and lumbar spine has NOT been shown to be effective.
