Luke Knox, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Luke Knox came to Northwest Arkansas directly after completion of his residency in 1987. He grew up in a small town in West Texas, outside of Lubbock, where he was exposed to medicine through his father, the last of a dying breed who operated all day and delivered babies all night.
Dr. Knox completed college at the University of Texas in Austin in 1977 and attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, graduating in 1981. The next six years he completed his residency in general surgery and neurosurgery at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
He met and married his wife Cindy Amram, a general surgeon also trained at the University of Iowa, in 1985. They have two children Kate and Luke who continue to reside in this area. Dr. Knox and his family moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1987 to join Dr. Vincent Runnels, who was instrumental in his early career.
Dr. Knox is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Knox is on staff at Washington Regional. He specializes in the conservative and surgical treatment of spinal conditions.
